Our commitment
We want everyone to be able to read our research and take part in our convenings. This website is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What that means in practice
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone. A "Skip to main content" link appears when you press Tab on any page.
- Text and controls have a colour contrast of at least 4.5 to 1, and the focus ring is always visible.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, the animated map, the film and the video clips stay still.
- The film is silent and every word in it is on screen. A written transcript is linked beside it.
- Images have text descriptions, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Form fields have visible labels, and any errors are described next to the field and announced.
- The site works at 200 percent zoom and on screens 320 pixels wide without sideways scrolling.
How we test
Every page is checked with automated accessibility tests before it is published, and we test by hand with a keyboard, with reduced motion switched on and with a screen reader.
